Breaking the Bonds
Prologue

Genro screamed out as the nightmare intensified, blood and death. He was ripped from his horrid nightmare by his friends voice. He jumped in the car-seat, turning wide eyes at his best friend.

"You ok pal?" The braided driver asked.

He ran his hands through his sweat-soaked red hair, "Yeah, Ryuuen, I'm fine. Just a nightmare." He shook the visions from his mind.

"You want to talk about it?"

"Really, I'll be fine. Don't worry so much."

"Genro, I can't help it. You're my best friend."

"I know, it's just...complicated. I promise once I figure it out I'll come to you ok?"

"All right"

Genro reached over and tugged on his friend's braid, "How long was I asleep?"

"About five hours."

"Do you want me to take over?"

"Naw...I love driving. It's so beautiful here."

"Ryu-kun, it's almost pitch black..."

"Well I wasn't the one sleeping all afternoon, Shunu." Ryuuen grinned. Genro always hated to be called by his real name. He sighed and looked at his watch, only about thirty minutes until they reached their new school.

//Why do I have this funny feeling...?//

Duo looked around his new room, it wasn't too bad. Large room with two beds, a bathroom, two desks. At first he was not too pleased about not bunking with his partner, but now that he actually thought about it, he was glad. To put it simpely, Heero Yuy was driving him insane.

"What is it with him?" he asked as he flopped onto one of the soft beds. //I just don't understand him.// Duo sighed again and wondered how long this mission would take.

//Why do I feel like something's going to happen?//

Heero scowled at his laptop. His fingers flew over the keys, trying to pinpoint where the mistake was made. He knew he should not be in a single, he should be in the same room with Duo. What had gone wrong?

"K'so!!!"

Never once did he stop to consider that maybe fate's hand was responsible...
